At about 9:40 PM on Saturday, January 13, 2018, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 124 Standard Street. On arrival, officers were advised that a woman thought someone had shot at her window. Officers observed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the living room ceiling and advanced to the room above the living room in order to locate a possible victim or suspect. Upon entering the bedroom above the living room, officers were met by two males—a 14-year-old juvenile and a 17-year-old juvenile. While speaking with the males, officers observed a spent shell casing in plain view in a small garbage can inside the room. Officers were informed by the woman that the room belonged to the 14-year-old. Given the circumstances, officers frisked both males, but the frisk yielded no weapons. Officers froze the scene pending a search warrant. The 14-year-old juvenile was charged with Delinquent to wit; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Upon execution of the search warrant, officers recovered a loaded 9mm Hi-Point Lugar firearm from a crawl space just outside of the 14-year-old’s bedroom, as well as the 9mm spent shell casing from the garbage can and a bullet fragment from the living room floor. Detectives will seek additional firearm related charges against the 14-year-old juvenile.
