At about 11:15 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 10 Payson Avenue in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located a male victim, believed to be in his late teens, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The victim has since been identified as Jerry Gomes, 16, of Roxbury.
