Daily Dose of Great Police Work: Officers Arrest Suspect, Recover Firearm Involved in Non-fatal Shooting in Brighton

At about 5:30 PM on Saturday, December 16, 2017, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 45 Faneuil Street. Upon arrival, officers observed a 28-year-old male victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Upon further investigation, officers determined that the suspect was a 33-year-old male named Clayton Watts from Brighton. This morning, Sunday, December 17, 2017, officers gleaned information about the suspect that led them to Framingham, MA. With the assistance of the Framingham Police Department, a vehicle was stopped, and officers found Watts hiding in the backseat under a blanket. A search of the vehicle allowed officers to recover the loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic firearm allegedly used in the crime. Watts was arrested and will be charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm), Assault and Battery with Intent to Murder, and several firearm charges. Watts will be arraigned at Brighton District Court.
