The Boston Police Foundation was formed in 1993 to provide private financial support for critically needed resources to the Boston Police Department, the oldest police department in the country. Our supporters help fund special equipment, advanced training, new technology, officer safety and wellness, and youth outreach programs not covered in its annual budget.
Said Commissioner William Evans: “I want to thank the Boston Police Foundation for its dedication and commitment in supporting the Boston Police Department. Anytime I can commend members of the department as well as members of the community for their caring commitment to keeping our city safe--whether it’s bravely confronting and apprehending an armed felon, saving the life of a person who is overdosing on drugs, or establishing positive relationships with neighborhood residents--it makes me proud to work alongside these individuals."
